Explore the Orchestra: Meet the Brass.

WHEN:

Albert Hall, Yarralumla – Thursday 13 July, 9.30am and 11am

Tuggeranong Arts Centre – Friday 14 July, 9.30am and 11am

WHAT:

The Canberra Symphony Orchestra and Tuggeranong Arts Centre proudly present Meet the Brass.

Canberra kids will have a unique and exciting school holiday opportunity to immerse
themselves in the world of classical music, dance and conducting, while also getting a
chance to try out various instruments with the musicians of the Canberra Symphony
Orchestra (CSO).

In collaboration with Tuggeranong Arts Centre, CSO is premiering a new series, Explore the
Orchestra, which gives our youngest audiences aged 2-9 and their grownups a delightful
interactive concert that combines music, dance and theatre. This series will be the perfect
entry point for first time concert goers and for any community members curious to engage
with classical music.

The first concert in a new series, Meet the Brass will be presented at both Albert Hall and
Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Meet the Brass introduces young audiences to the different brass
instruments of the orchestra. Kids will not only hear the brass quintet perform but also learn
how sound is made and even have the chance to conduct the musicians. Audience
participation is highly encouraged! Prior to each concert, hands-on art and music activities
will delight families, including the opportunity to play orchestral instruments.

The concerts will feature a relaxed performance setting designed to be accessible for
diverse audiences. Auslan interpreters will be at the 9:30am performances each day.
